The Department of Environment and Energy coordinates the implementation of the city’s Energy Concept 2050 and enforces the Energy Act as well as the Environmental Protection Act in the areas of noise, air, and radiation. You are responsible for enforcing the Energy Act. This includes assessing energy certificates, advising building owners on energy matters, and participating in national and cantonal committees. Additionally, you enforce the Air Quality Ordinance and assess building applications. 

• You are interested in and committed to energy topics, environmental and climate protection. 
• You have a completed degree in building physics, engineering, or architecture. 
• You possess knowledge or experience in energy, air quality control, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, sustainable construction, and circular economy. 
• You enjoy project work and contact with various specialist offices as well as the public. 

The Department of Environment and Energy is committed with a motivated team of 14 people to a healthy environment, the sustainable use of energy and resources, and climate protection in the city of St.Gallen. We inform and advise, initiate projects, and carry out statutory enforcement tasks. The focus of our work is on the objectives and measures of the Energy Concept 2050, the Environmental Concept, and the Mobility Concept 2040.
