The Office for Spatial Development and Geoinformation (AREG) is the cantonal specialist office for spatial development, official surveying, and geoinformation.
Within the framework of agglomeration policy, the federal government offers contributions towards investments in agglomeration transport. It requires the creation of agglomeration programmes in the areas of settlement and transport. Overall, the canton of St. Gallen is leading in five agglomeration programmes, three of which have inter-cantonal and two international perimeters.
