Senior Strategic Procurement Expert (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• Co-design and implementation of the category strategy for the responsible category areas
• Analysis of global procurement markets including cost, risk, and technology assessment
• Selection, qualification, and development of strategic suppliers worldwide
• Support in the further development of (existing) systems/processes; leadership or participation in various purchasing projects
• Coordination and implementation of escalations within the scope of bottleneck management
• Ensuring the availability of production materials for the business areas of machine tools, laser technology (including EUV), and power tools in cooperation with planning and quality management
• Management of relocation projects
• Identification of savings potential along the value chain
• Optimization of logistical parameters (replenishment times, batch sizes, transport, packaging) at the interfaces between suppliers and production or value stream to increase supply chain flexibility
• Active participation in supplier quality management in cooperation with adjacent departments
• Preparation and conduct of complex international price negotiations and conclusion of framework agreements and supply contracts

What we are looking for

• Successfully completed studies in economics (or industrial engineering) or technical/commercial basic training with corresponding several years of professional experience and completed advanced training in purchasing
• At least 5 years of proven experience in strategic/technical purchasing (mechanical engineering, automotive, medical technology, or aviation)
• Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and assertiveness
• Analytical and entrepreneurial thinking
• Independent, reliable, and precise working style
• Solid knowledge of MS Office and SAP R/3 or S4 HANA
• Fluent language skills in German and English
