About the job
The opportunity
At Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we develop and manufacture high‑quality power semiconductor devices that support a more sustainable, flexible, and secure global energy system. You will join our inclusive BiMOS Backend Process & Test Engineering team and gain valuable hands‑on experience in shaping our production processes. In this role, you will help improve assembly and dispensing technologies while learning from supportive colleagues who value collaboration. You will grow your analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills as you contribute to meaningful improvements. The internship lasts six months, with the possibility to extend.
How you’ll make an impact

Collaborate on automated production processes with cross‑functional teams such as equipment suppliers, product engineering, quality, and systems engineering teams

Analyze product and machine data to improve quality and stability

Define improvement actions based on data insights

Support troubleshooting activities in daily operations

Drive root‑cause analyses to resolve production issues

Help enhance production throughput and reliability
Your background
-
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in material sciences, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, chemistry, physics, or a similar discipline

Fundamentals of Design of Experiments (DoE), data analysis, Six Sigma, and production statistics

Experience with automation and machine communication

Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team and proactive hands-on mentality

Know-how in data analysis tools and statistics (Power-Bi, Minitab or Python)

Fluent in English, German at minimum B1 level
