Practical Trainer: Nursing in Gynaecology and Ophthalmology

The University Clinic for Gynaecology at the Inselspital Bern is a leading, internationally recognised medical centre for gynaecology. Our services cover all areas of gynaecology and obstetrics. The University Clinic for Ophthalmology at the Inselspital has a long tradition of excellence in ophthalmology. The Department of Gynaecology and Ophthalmology comprises 31 beds. Here, women with gynaecological, oncological or senological conditions as well as patients undergoing conservative and microsurgical treatment of eye diseases are cared for.

What to expect

• Care of day clinic patients, patients with complex surgical procedures and support for relatives in palliative situations
• Care of patients after ophthalmological microsurgical procedures and in the treatment of eye diseases
• You impart professional practical skills
• Ensuring the learning process support of a group of nursing trainees (secondary level II and tertiary level) in clinical practice
• Planning and organising the training and deployment of a group of trainees in clinical practice, in collaboration with the nursing education officer and line management

What you bring

• Completed training as a qualified nurse and experience in the acute care sector
• At least 2 years of professional experience
• Experience as a vocational trainer with a completed diploma course
• Preferably professional further training in nursing and an SVEB certificate as a practical trainer or equivalent qualification in adult education
