The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population’s needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
A 23% games librarian position is open at the Ludothèque de la Servette, available as soon as possible.
Job Description
Participate in the activities of the games library, notably in the following areas:
- a) welcoming users, managing loans and returns of games, as well as advising and guiding in the choice of games;
- b) creating and setting up themed spaces;
- c) organising activities in the games library and off-site (games library parties, neighbourhood festivals, summer activities in the square, Family Games Day…);
- d) researching, handling, and classifying games/toys;
- Design, propose and lead animation activities in the field of games, in connection with the neighbourhood and other existing reception structures.
Qualifications
- You must have completed the Training for Leisure Activity Management Functions (FFETL): module 1 of this training is a prerequisite before hiring, CFC ASE or a certified games librarian training or any training deemed equivalent;
- A strong creative and manual sense;
- Good rapport with all generations, a passion for games and the desire to develop it in others;
- At least 5 years’ experience in the social and/or associative field;
- Successful experience of teamwork;
- Volunteer games librarian experience would be an asset;
- Good knowledge of the social system and the Geneva associative network;
- An innate sense of social and human relations, a taste for working with multiple partners;
- Ability to integrate and develop within a small team (8 people);
- Good knowledge of basic IT/office tools.
Additional Information
- The position requires some flexibility and availability for presence during specific off-hours events;
- Working days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday;
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 6/8;
