TERRE DES HOMMES SWITZERLAND RECRUITS YOUNG VOLUNTEERS
as part of the Romandy Children's Conference from January 28 to 31, 2026
Terre des Hommes Switzerland is looking for volunteers for the following positions:
- Activities and supervision of children from January 28 to 31, 2026: lead workshops and recreational moments, group leaders;
- Communication: media, image capture, interviews with children, video editing, social media management.
Terre des Hommes Switzerland, in collaboration with the CSAJ (Swiss Youth Activities Council), is committed to ensuring that children's voices are heard. The Romandy Children's Conference aims to encourage children to share their recommendations on the implementation of their rights before local and national political representatives on November 23.
50 children aged 10 to 12 will represent their peers from the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, and Valais for 4 days during the 6th edition of the Romandy Children's Conference.
Project objectives for children:
- Know their rights and be aware of the Swiss political system;
- Get involved in organizing the Children's Conference;
- Be able to formulate recommendations for better respect of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Switzerland and mobilize Swiss political leaders for their implementation;
- Be an ambassador for children's rights among their peers, family, and school.
Thanks to this project, you will:
- Encourage and support children's reflections in their role as citizens and their ability to exercise their citizenship;
- Use your skills and develop new ones within a committed team;
- Benefit from the experience of an NGO recognized in Children's Rights.
Profile sought:
- Be available for the 4 days (January 28 to 31, 2026);
- Be available 2 days before the Conference for training (dates to be communicated later);
- Proven experience with children and/or experience in children's rights;
- Group management: ability to supervise and manage a group of children;
- Pedagogy: ability to encourage and support children's reflections;
- Good interpersonal skills with children and experience in camp/colony animation;
- Team spirit;
- Interest and awareness of children's rights and civic issues;
- Knowledge and skills in photography, video recording, and mastery of video editing software (for communication).
