Job Description
The Global Studies Institute (GSI) is an inter-faculty center of the University of Geneva combining the tradition of regional and international studies with developments in global governance. It emphasizes interdisciplinarity in the study of international and regional relations to better understand the new challenges of the contemporary world in their entirety.The Faculty of Law and the GSI are offering a position for an assistant as part of the Bachelor in International Relations (BARI).
Field: Law / International Relations / Global Studies.
The job description includes the following tasks:
- Assist the Professor responsible for the course 'History of Legal and Political Thought' of the BARI
- Seminar for supervising research projects in law (BARI)
- Monitoring and grading exams as well as following up with students
- Participation in the scientific activities of the GSI (conferences, workshops, etc.), particularly the activities of doctoral students (seminars, workshops, study days)
- Devote 50% of their time to writing their thesis
- Participation in national and international conferences
- Academic publications
Required Qualifications and Skills
- To hold by September 30, 2025, a Master's degree recognized by the University of Geneva (in law or philosophy)
- Have a very good knowledge and a clear research interest in law and philosophy
- Competence and interest in the targeted field as well as the willingness to write a doctoral thesis in law (law mention), in philosophy of law or global studies
- Master English and French (oral and written skills)

Duration of the engagement :The candidate will be hired on a two-year contract that may be renewed for two successive periods, respectively of two years and one year. The maximum duration of the assistant's function is five years. The first year constitutes a probationary period during which the employment relationship may be terminated with a notice period of 3 months for the end of a month.
