For our location in Steinhausen/ZG, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Operational Buyer 100% w/m/d
Your future responsibilities
In this role, you will drive supplier performance, support cross-functional project execution, and ensure supply chain readiness throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for prototyping parts (mechatronic assemblies), ensuring timely material availability through efficient SAP processes
- Monitor supplier performance, initiate corrective actions, and support supplier selection and sourcing decisions
- Manage RFQs, analyze quotations, conduct cost benchmarking, and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers
- Create and manage purchase orders and contracts, resolve invoice discrepancies, and maintain accurate SCM master data
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful NPI implementation and supply chain readiness
- Identify supply risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier base
What makes you successful
You are a proactive, analytical, and a hands-on professional who enjoys working in a dynamic and international environment.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in operational Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management within a high-tech or manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working with SAP
- Proven ability to build and develop supplier relationships while driving performance improvements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English is essential; German is a plus
