Head of Finance & Administration Department 100% (m/f/d)
Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (UAM) at six locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA) since March 2024.
We are looking for reinforcement for the cross-location departmental management and to support the co-department heads.
Your tasks
- Definition, monitoring and optimisation of the administrative and financial (budgets, accounting, controlling) management processes of the department in close cooperation with the department management, headquarters and the asylum centres
- Management and organisation of accounting in collaboration with the head office
- Co-responsibility for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements as well as invoicing
- Co-responsibility for the preparation of annual budgets
- Support of the asylum centres in all financial matters
- Ensuring compliance with cantonal requirements and Caritas Switzerland’s guidelines in the Finance and Administration department
- Introduction of a dashboard and ensuring regular analytical reporting
- Management of the internal control system and ensuring its monitoring
Our requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a University of Applied Sciences / federal specialist certificate in finance and accounting with at least 5 years of professional experience in a corresponding position or an equivalent recognised qualification
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role managing a budget of at least 1 million (public and semi-public funding)
- At least 3 years of experience leading a team of qualified employees
- Excellent work organisation and independence, ability to manage several tasks simultaneously with precision and conscientiousness
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, forward-thinking and planning ability
- Proficiency in German (spoken and written), excellent editorial skills
- Very good command of specialised applications (Abacus) and common office software
- Knowledge in controlling, conducting audits and handling legal disputes
