The Department of Economic Affairs comprises six offices: the Office for Public Transport, Cantonal Forestry Office, Agricultural Office, Office for Nature, Hunting and Fisheries, Office for Economy and Labour, Office for Data and Statistics, as well as the General Secretariat. Currently, around 640 employees are engaged. The General Secretariat provides central services for the entire department, including in the areas of law, HR management, finance, and IT.

Head of Finance and Controlling (m/f/d)
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: St. Gallen
What to expect
- Professional, personnel and financial management of the Finance and Controlling department with three employees
- Management of finance and accounting within the Department of Economic Affairs
- Design, control and coordination of the financial budgetary planning process, departmental controlling, and responsibility for the financial statements according to HRM2
- Participation in cantonal projects and completion of individual assignments for the department management
- Contact person for the department management, office heads and other employees on questions within the area of responsibility
What distinguishes you
- University or university of applied sciences degree in business administration or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in finance, accounting and controlling
- Strong strategic-conceptual thinking and analytical skills
- Persuasiveness, implementation strength and negotiation skills
- High cooperation and communication skills as well as strong service orientation
- Solid knowledge of IT applications (Microsoft Office, SAP FI/CO, SAP HCM etc.)
- Fluent oral and written expression in German
