The Market Risk team at Zürcher Kantonalbank is a well-coordinated crew of specialists – with a mission: to deeply understand and transparently present risks and P&L in trading. Our tasks are as diverse as we are: We conduct an active risk dialogue with trading, monitor market and counterparty risks, prepare reports, calculate regulatory metrics, and continuously develop our tools together with our own engineering team. For the leadership of our 5-person market risk analysis team, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual. Discover the breadth of our trading business, from structured products through FX and fixed-income trading to collateral trading and liquidity management. Take the lead of a dynamic, trading-oriented team, become part of our management team, and help shape the future of the Market Risk division with us.
Your Responsibilities
- You lead, coach, and further develop the team to create a positive, ambitious work culture together
- You are responsible for the daily reporting and analysis of market risk metrics and trading P&L
- You analyse the risk profile of the trading books in the context of the trading strategy and market developments
- You conduct a daily risk dialogue with trading and hold a weekly meeting with the trading management team (discussion of risk profile, challenge of positioning)
- You prepare reports for the CRO and the bank’s risk committees (regular and ad hoc)
- You maintain regular exchanges with Treasury and Accounting on selected trading topics
- You ensure the independent valuation of trading products (IPV) and regularly perform an assessment of valuation uncertainties
- For large or complex transactions, you conduct preventive risk assessments
- You participate in projects and working groups to further develop our tools and trading-related processes
Your Profile
- You hold an above-average university degree in a STEM subject or in Finance/Economics (additional finance qualifications such as CFA or FRM are desirable)
- You have several years of professional experience in market risk or a trading-related function, ideally with experience in options and structured products
- Financial markets and trading are your passion, and you have a profound understanding of the structure, participants, and customs of international financial markets
- You have experience leading specialist teams and can motivate your employees to achieve top performance
- You are IT-savvy and have in-depth knowledge of trading systems, ideally Front Arena
- Your strengths include highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
- You present yourself confidently, have a critical mindset, and convince with your argumentation skills
- You communicate succinctly and professionally – in German and English – and present complex topics clearly and convincingly
- You have a strong motivation to perform and deliver excellent quality under deadline pressure
