The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the cantonal roads as well as hydraulic engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. In addition, we take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 civil engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 metres and tunnels up to 3 kilometres long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountainous canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. We are looking for a Project Manager Execution (Section Construction Manager) for the Road Construction Department from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
- Technical responsibility for the assigned new construction, expansion and maintenance projects on the main road network throughout the canton
- Responsibility for the professional, timely and cost-effective project execution as well as monitoring compliance with quality requirements
- Section construction management for projects on the canton’s main roads
- Independent management of demanding road and civil engineering projects in the tendering and implementation phases
- Coordination between planning and implementation
- Technical leadership of the local construction management teams
- Support of the Head of the Main Roads Construction Section in the area of internal quality management
- Degree as a civil engineer (BSc, MSc level), master builder or an equivalent qualification
- Very good technical knowledge and several years of experience in the execution of road and civil engineering projects
- Assertiveness, communication skills and initiative
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork
- Good IT user skills (cost estimation software, MS Office)
- General working language is German; knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
