Portrait of the School/Institution
We are the Foundation for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth Zollikofen - a private, politically and denominationally neutral organization with a non-profit objective. Our task is to support and accompany people with special needs from birth to young adulthood. We offer additional services to parents, teachers of public regular schools and special elementary schools, as well as to professionals. Our core competencies lie in the support and accompaniment of young people with visual impairment, blindness, multiple disabilities, or from the autism spectrum.
In the Education and Living Department, in the Vision team, we are looking for a pre-trainee starting August 1, 2026

Tasks
You will work in a heterogeneous class with 4 to 8 children with blindness / visual impairment and/or on the autism spectrum (AS). You will support the class team in individual as well as group sessions. You assist in planning and conducting lessons and in organizing the daily routine. After the introduction, you will take over individual learning sequences. If needed, you will also work in the residential groups and participate in camps, events, or excursions.
This pre-traineeship is suitable for those interested in training in the educational-social field. During the internship, you will reflect on your educational attitude and behavior and will be accompanied by a specialist.
Requirements
You are interested in education for the blind and visually impaired as well as children with disabilities. You are at least 18 years old, have empathy and a sense of humor, and act calmly and solution-oriented even in difficult situations. You are always aware of your responsibility. With your open, friendly, and helpful manner, you contribute to a good team atmosphere.
We offer
After careful introduction, you will work during school hours with a class and be part of a committed team. Through the internship, you gain insight into working with visually impaired children and youth and have the opportunity to participate in internal training sessions. You work more during the school term but have 12 weeks of school-free time during which you can use your time freely.
