The Medical Educator is a field-based role focused on healthcare professionals (HCPs) within Abbott Diabetes Care in Switzerland. The primary mission is to provide medical-scientific expertise in diabetology and to deliver high-quality medical training on sensor-based glucose monitoring technologies (FreeStyle Libre™) in Switzerland.
The central objective of the role is to support diabetes care teams so they can fully benefit from CGM systems for their patient populations. The role also includes credible communication of scientific information and professional dialogue with healthcare stakeholders in the assigned geographical area.
The position requires close and compliant collaboration with commercial teams while ensuring complete medical independence and maximum scientific integrity.
Your responsibilities
- Provide medical-scientific expertise in diabetology to support FreeStyle Libre™ products in Switzerland; collaborate cross-functionally to develop, align, and implement client-level strategies and programmes in your sector
- Create and deliver scientific and medical presentations to healthcare professionals, individually or in groups, in person, online, or as recorded sessions
- Conduct field visits to HCPs and discuss relevant medical-scientific topics based on available scientific data
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate internal training and development programmes on medical-scientific subjects
- Perform internal medical-scientific tasks (e.g. validations, Fair Market Value assessments, B2B CRM activities) as well as administrative support
- Develop and maintain a network including scientific societies, key opinion leaders (KOLs), physicians, and other relevant healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs teams of ADC in DACH, EMEAP, and globally
- Organise medical-scientific programmes for local congresses, including delivering specialised presentations
- Support the selection and implementation of specific elements and events of the FreeStyle Academy™
Your qualifications
- Recognised healthcare professional (e.g. diabetes educator, dietitian, or physician) with solid clinical experience in managing people with diabetes
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
- Established network in the field of diabetology in Switzerland
- Proven ability to work proactively and solution-oriented
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Strong digital proficiency and technical understanding
- Team spirit combined with creativity and autonomy
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and operate effectively in a matrix organisation
- Fluency in French, German, and English (depending on the region), Italian is an asset
- High mobility (approximately 80%, field-based role)
