MRP Material Planner for Raw and Packaging Materials (d/w/m)

We are looking for two committed individuals to join our team in the area of MRP material planning for raw and packaging materials.

One position is permanent part-time with a 70% workload

(28 hours/week); the second position is fixed-term until 31.12.2027 and comprises 80% part-time (32 hours/week).

PURPOSE

In this role, you ensure the uninterrupted availability of raw and packaging materials to reliably support production plans at the Thayngen plant. At the same time, you optimise inventory levels, supplier performance, service levels, and costs.

You are the central interface between planning, procurement, production, warehouse, quality, and suppliers, ensuring smooth implementation along the supply chain.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN TASKS BE

Material Planning & Supply Assurance

• You ensure the availability of raw and packaging materials for short-, medium- and long-term production plans.

• You carry out MRP activities, maintain planning parameters, and create purchase requisitions as well as material calls.

• You monitor material risks and support innovation launches, product changes, phase-out controls, and SKU lifecycle activities.

Inventory Management

• You align customer service, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.

• You monitor stocks, conduct regular inventory reviews, and identify improvement potentials.

• You actively contribute to reducing excess, obsolete, or expired stock.

Supplier Collaboration

• You build cooperative relationships with strategic suppliers and maintain regular communication.

• You review supplier performance and delivery reliability and drive improvements in supplier OTIF.

• You escalate and resolve supply bottlenecks, identify risks, and work with procurement on resilience and continuity plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• You work closely with procurement, plant operations, planning, transport logistics, warehouse, quality, and product development.

• You lead or actively participate in material review and availability meetings.

• You support S&OP and integrated planning processes.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• You continuously improve planning processes, planning parameters, inventory levels, and service levels.

• You monitor KPIs, identify causes of losses, and promote data-driven decision-making.

• You identify automation and digitalisation opportunities and ensure the accuracy of planning master data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid experience in SAP ERP MRP and very good knowledge of MRP and planning processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain concepts, inventory management, forecasting, and demand planning.

• Experience in KPI analysis, data visualisation, and reporting.

• Practical knowledge of Power BI as well as advanced skills in MS Excel and other MS tools.

• Experience in ERP master data management as well as general planning and scheduling tools.

• Strong data analysis skills, structured problem-solving competence, and experience in root cause analysis.

• Excellent communication and cooperation skills as well as outstanding stakeholder management.

• Fluent German and English skills and a degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a comparable field.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• APICS certification.

• Experience in optimising planning processes, inventory levels, and service levels.

• Experience with automation or digitalisation initiatives in the supply chain environment.
