The Zug Estates Group is a publicly listed real estate company that creates added value through the development, operation, and continuous advancement of sustainable and diverse living spaces. The real estate portfolio, valued at around CHF 1.92 billion, mainly consists of two sites in Zug (central area with the Metalli shopping alley) and Risch Rotkreuz (Suurstoffi site).
Sustainable principles and values are deeply embedded in the company's DNA. Today, Zug Estates can operate its entire portfolio practically without greenhouse gas emissions. Zug Estates has also taken innovative paths early on in building construction with the construction of the first wood hybrid high-rises and the garden high-rise Aglaya. To continue achieving ambitious goals and ambitions across the entire ESG spectrum in the future, a new position of a Sustainability Manager is to be created.
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for the strategic management and coordination as well as ensuring the operational implementation of all Zug Estates activities in the area of sustainability and the related reporting. This responsible position with a high degree of creative freedom includes the following tasks:
Your main responsibilities include:
• Responsibility for the development and implementation of Zug Estates' sustainability strategy in close collaboration with the CEO and the Board of Directors of Zug Estates Holding AG
• Strategic management of sustainability projects at the company and portfolio level, continuous development of key sustainability topics, and support of various business units in achieving sustainability goals
• Representation of Zug Estates in associations and organizations with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation such as the Circular Construction Charter, the Zug Alliance, and the Switzerland Innovation Park Central
• Ensuring high-quality and comprehensive sustainability reporting and compliance with the applicable regulations for Zug Estates
• Support of external analysts and rating agencies related to sustainability, including maintenance of related ratings and the Green Finance Framework in connection with capital market transactions
• Development, evaluation, assessment, and support of sustainability initiatives
• Responsibility for the collection, analysis, and evaluation of consumption data related to energy and water
• Preparation and leadership of the monthly sustainability core team meetings
• Organization of the annual sustainability forum
You bring the following qualifications:
• Successfully completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the fields of construction, architecture, real estate, energy, or environmental management
• Several years of professional experience in sustainability in the real estate industry, on the owner side and/or in consulting
• Comprehensive knowledge and technical understanding of structural and energy solutions for sustainable construction and operation of properties
• Experience with labels, certifications, and ratings at both property and corporate levels
• Proactive, analytical, and systematic working style as well as holistic and entrepreneurial thinking
• High social competence, enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration, and team player
• Willingness and strong commitment to developing and implementing innovative solutions regarding various aspects of sustainability
• Affinity for digitalization and good user knowledge of MS Office applications (including SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
• Confident communication skills in German and English (m/f)
• Connection to the region
