The Hospital Network AR
The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the Acute Hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the acute care nursing sector under the leadership of Ms Dagmar Steinle, we are seeking a Head of Nursing Development from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, with a workload of 80-100%.
Your tasks
- Accompany change processes and support teams in the sustainable implementation of new standards
- Develop, update and implement nursing standards, guidelines and concepts
- Lead case discussions in complex nursing situations
- Derive and implement improvement measures from quality data, audits and evaluations
- Implement scientific findings into nursing practice
- Professional leadership and further development of the nursing specialists
- Lead working groups (nursing-relevant and/or cross-departmental tasks)
- Active participation in teams and support of teams in the nursing process
- Evaluation, controlling and further development of the nursing assessments used
- Coordinate, plan and teach students at the University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Support the further development of the Nursing Department
- Constructive collaboration with all interfaces of the department
- Initiate, design and implement new nursing services and care models within Herisau Hospital
- Define, collect and evaluate nursing-sensitive quality indicators
Your profile
- Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing
- You have experience in practical work in a Swiss hospital
- Interest in collaboration within an interprofessional team
- You enjoy developing new things and contributing your ideas
- Responsible and patient-oriented attitude
