For the Paul Scherrer Institute, the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland, we are looking for a committed and curious personality to successfully lead the institute's procurement projects. In this versatile role, you take responsibility for project procurement, maintaining partnership-based supplier relationships, and managing a specialist area from a purchasing perspective. Together with a cooperative, open team, you actively contribute to making the organization's procurement processes efficient, transparent, and sustainable.
Your tasks
- Leading complex procurement projects for capital goods and services in collaboration with research and specialist departments
- Conducting central procurements including requirements clarification, market analyses, and tenders according to BöB/VöB in German and English
- Creating, negotiating, and awarding demanding contracts
- Responsibility for all procurements of a defined specialist area
- Sustainable and partnership-based collaboration with selected key suppliers
- Ensuring high satisfaction of internal customers
- Active participation in shaping and further developing procurement processes and standards as well as their digitalization
Your profile
- Completed commercial or technical basic training (EFZ), alternatively a technical or business university degree (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering)
- Ideally, a specialist further education in purchasing (e.g., federally certified purchasing specialist) or several years of professional experience in purchasing, alternatively a strong interest in strategic purchasing
- Experience in project business, preferably in the field of capital goods, plant engineering, or complex services
- Entrepreneurial thinking, result-oriented action, and the ability to critically question structures and implement innovative solutions
- Assertiveness and confident appearance towards internal and external stakeholders
- Native German speaker with solid English skills (B2/C1)
