SR: Socio-legal Intern
The Legal Aid Service for Exiles (SAJE) is a Swiss project of the Swiss Protestant Aid (EPER), in the canton of Vaud. SAJE is a legal advice and defence service for asylum seekers who have been assigned to the Canton of Vaud. The SAJE team consists of one director, three lawyers, one intern, one secretary, and one receptionist/interpreter.
For the support of persons holding an F permit (provisional authorisation to stay in Switzerland, granted to people fleeing war or widespread violence as well as to seriously ill persons who cannot be treated in their country of origin), we are looking for a 6-month intern starting 1 July 2026 or by agreement.
Your main responsibilities:
- Weekly duty (handling administrative files of clients holding an F permit and social support for these persons, under the direction of the project manager and lawyers).
- Reception, registration, and orientation during SAJE duty hours in Lausanne
- Occasional support to lawyers and management in their legal or administrative procedures
- Participation in conferences
Your assets and skills:
- Interest in the field of migration, specifically asylum
- Very good writing skills
- Comfortable in contact with asylum seekers and able to manage difficult situations
- Organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Experience in associations related to migration or asylum is an advantage
- Language skills: French: native language; German and English: good skills; other languages are an advantage.
