To complement our pathology team in Allschwil, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an independent, reliable, and quality-conscious person as an employee in pathology for macroscopic diagnostics.
- You are responsible for the assessment of tissue samples for macroscopic examination.
- Subsequently, you carry out a precise macroscopic evaluation of surgical specimens and biopsies and create a report documentation including digital photo documentation of the macroscopic specimens, macroscopic report creation with anatomical orientation, size measurements, and topographical information.
- You take representative tissue samples for further histological processing, taking into account specific clinical questions and results of preliminary examinations.
- You are responsible for preparing the tissue samples for embedding in paraffin blocks as well as selecting specific examination panels (special stains, IHC), thus directing the diagnostic process.
- You are responsible for compliance with quality standards and contribute to the optimization of workflows.
- Completed studies in medicine, biology, human biology, veterinary medicine, or comparable fields
- Ideally experience in macroscopic diagnostics or in a histological laboratory
- Knowledge of human anatomy desired
- Knowledge of pathological changes advantageous
- Very good German skills (minimum C1; ideally native speaker)
- Good knowledge of MS Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel); ideally experience with laboratory software
