Internship in the Field of Surveys 80%The Statistical Office of the Canton of Zurich is the centre of expertise for data collection, dissemination and analysis in the cantonal administration. We inform the population and authorities about social and economic developments in the canton and economic area of Zurich.
In the Surveys team, we conduct surveys for the cantonal administration and municipalities and organise benchmarking projects for social institutions and other public-law organisations that fulfil a public mandate. With carefully developed questions, we create the basis for well-founded data-based decisions.
For the Surveys team, we are looking for an intern 80% from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.
Your tasks: You...
- primarily analyse survey data independently in R and create clear graphics and tables.
- programme questionnaires in LimeSurvey.
- summarise results in writing.
- support the team in further project steps of a survey, such as developing the survey design, preparing offers, planning, revising questionnaires.
- participate in other tasks within the office.
Your profile
- You enjoy seeking solutions in contact with others.
- You like people and enjoy supporting them.
- You are interested in quantitative surveys and data analysis.
- You have gained initial experience in R and want to apply and expand your R skills.
- You know what a confidence interval is and how to calculate a chi-square test.
- You work carefully, in a structured manner and appreciate working independently.
- You have a university degree (Uni/FH, Bachelor or Master), preferably in the social or humanities field, or similar relevant professional experience and skills.
