Scientific Staff Member in Social Science Environmental Research 80% (m/f/d)
The research unit Economics and Social Sciences addresses economic, institutional, and societal questions related to WSL research topics such as landscape, natural resources, spatial development, and natural hazards. The Environmental and Resource Economics research group is looking for a fixed-term position starting January 1, 2026 for 6 months.
Within the framework of the project ‘Beyond Borders: Analyzing Food and Energy Consumption to reduce Carbon Emissions in Switzerland’ (BBCES), you will determine the carbon footprint of selected consumer goods. In addition, you will plan and organize deliberative workshops and conduct them independently using game-like elements (gamification). The goal is to identify and analyze the consumption behavior of different population groups with regard to climate change. You will independently publish your research results in international scientific journals.
You hold a doctorate in environmental social sciences, environmental economics, social geography, or a related field. You have proven experience in empirical social research and independent project management. Furthermore, you have in-depth knowledge in conducting participatory and deliberative processes as well as in publishing and presenting research results. You are proactive, committed, and communicative, enjoy working independently yet interdisciplinary networked.
