Automation Technicians at CIT-S

The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Security at CHUV is looking for two automation technicians with a workload between 80% and 100% to complete its team. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of care, research and education.

The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Security (CIT-S) designs, modernises, operates and secures the real estate assets as well as the technical and biomedical installations of CHUV. It operates in a large-scale environment comprising more than 160 buildings, nearly 65 sites spread across the canton, over 260,000 m² of infrastructure and real estate assets valued at 1.69 billion francs.

Its activities revolve around three main missions:

• Construction and modernisation: studying and carrying out architectural, transformation and renovation projects as well as the renewal of technical installations.
• Operation: ensuring the functioning and maintenance of infrastructures and technical and biomedical equipment, as well as the production and distribution of fluids and energies necessary for CHUV’s activities.
• Protection and security: ensuring the protection of people, property and infrastructures and contributing to the continuity of hospital activities.

Each project and intervention by CIT-S thus contributes to providing CHUV teams with safe, reliable infrastructures adapted to the needs of patients and professionals.

Mission

• You are responsible for the maintenance and operation of electromechanical installations (autoclaves, pneumatic transports, kitchen equipment, automatic doors, stacker cranes, AGVs, etc.)
• You study projects, supervise and accept installation works of equipment in the hospital campus.

Profile

• You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as an automation technician or an equivalent qualification
• You have knowledge of and some experience in the maintenance of hospital equipment
• You can read and understand plans and/or diagrams
• You are proficient in basic computer software (Word, Excel, etc.)
• You are required to perform on-call and site guard duties
• Your place of residence is within 45 minutes of the workplace (required due to on-call and guard duties)
• You hold a category B driving licence.
