The Migration Office operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues. We are responsible for foreigner permits, implement the federal foreigner and asylum law, issue biometric Swiss passports and foreigner identity cards, and provide care and integration in our asylum centres.
The Migration Office is looking for a
Teacher German as a Second Language
for the centre with an integration character Kreuzacker in Wil from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement
Workload: 60-90%
Workplace: Wil
What to expect
- You are responsible for teaching the German language
- You are responsible for the schooling of all adults living in the centre
- You prepare the participants for an independent life in Switzerland
- You take on administrative tasks such as keeping event logs and preparing school and exit reports
What distinguishes you
- You have the SVEB 1 qualification as an adult educator or an equivalent qualification (e.g. teaching diploma from abroad) or a teaching/pedagogical qualification
- You have excellent German skills (at least C1 level)
- An additional qualification in German as a Second Language (DaZ) and/or fide is desirable
- You are characterised by clear communication and are open in dealing with people from different cultures
- You can set priorities, manage short-term changes and keep a cool head
- Good MS Office skills
- Foreign language skills are an advantage
