Specialist Monitoring and Communication 80 - 100%According to the decision to introduce cantonal Data Governance (RRB No. 444/2026), data is to be systematically managed and further developed in terms of quality, availability and use. This creates the foundation for data-based decisions, multiple use of data and the responsible use of new technologies, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The Statistical Office acts as the cantonal "Data Competence Centre" and coordinates Data Governance within the Zurich cantonal administration. It supports the directorates and the State Chancellery with professional advice and central services in further developing the cantonal data maturity.
As part of this competence centre, you will help build the nervous system through which the canton of Zurich will systematically control its data for the first time.
From September 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for a
Specialist Monitoring and Communication (80–100%)
Your tasks
- You will establish and further develop the monitoring of cantonal data management with regard to data use, data quality and compliance.
- You collect and document relevant use cases, challenges and success stories and make them known within and outside the canton.
- You derive measures from the collected information and prepare decision-making bases and reports for committees at a strategic level.
- You support stakeholder management in the data area as well as interfaces to adjacent specialist areas (e.g. ICT, enterprise architecture, data protection, AI).
Your profile
- Experience in monitoring or communication in the context of digitalisation, data management or organisational development.
- Experience in building and designing reporting and key figure systems; knowledge of frameworks such as OKR and KPI-based control models is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Data Governance and data management.
- University degree in Data Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification.
- Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style.
- Strategic understanding as well as the ability to prepare complex contexts in an understandable way.
- Excellent German skills in spoken and written form.
