Trainee Laboratory Technician in the Field of Chemistry (a)

For August 2026, we offer you a challenging training position in a fascinating research environment.

The exciting activities in the chemistry lab include observing, monitoring, processing, communicating, and interpreting data, while you make use of modern analytical devices. You are responsible for the practical execution of scientific investigations, producing or analyzing chemical substances.

Together with the neighboring institute Eawag, we conduct a joint teaching laboratory. In addition to the introductory course at the beginning of your training, you will also attend several months of training courses there in the second and third years. You will attend vocational school in Winterthur.

Secondary school A is soon history, and you will complete it with very good performance, especially in the natural sciences, mathematics, and also language subjects. You have good observational and comprehension skills, are persistent and eager to experiment, and enjoy working in a team. Your technical understanding and manual dexterity are just as important as your ability for abstract and analytical thinking. We also appreciate care and reliability. A passion for working with computers and electronics is a must.
