The Public Prosecutor's Office is responsible for criminal prosecution, unless an administrative authority is responsible according to the introductory law to the Swiss Criminal Code. The General Department of the Public Prosecutor's Office handles all cases where no other jurisdiction applies, in particular the jurisdiction of the Traffic Department or the Juvenile Prosecutor's Department.

We are looking for a motivated team member from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement

What to expect

• Handling all correspondence of a public prosecutor and support in all areas
• Recording new cases and processing them in case management
• Independent case processing (opening, issuing summons, preparing interrogations) under the responsibility of the public prosecutor
• Taking minutes at prosecutorial interrogations or independently conducting delegated cases
• Independent drafting of penal orders, dismissal and non-prosecution orders etc. according to the instructions of the public prosecutor
• Independent conduct of settlement negotiations in simple cases
• Monitoring visits of remand prisoners in the Cantonal Prison

What you bring

• Commercial or equivalent training
• Preferably professional experience in the judiciary (courts, public prosecutor's office, police or legal profession) as well as interest in criminal prosecution
• Fluent in written and spoken expression and very good knowledge of German
• Good IT user skills in common Office programmes
• Enjoyment of demanding and multifaceted public contact and skill in dealing with different customer groups
• Independent, reliable and responsible working style
• Discretion, confident appearance, high resilience and flexibility
• Willingness to be on call (approx. 4 to 6 weeks per year)
