The position is attached to the Operations Department. This department's mission is to ensure the stewardship and logistics necessary for the smooth running of all HUG services, in terms of catering, cleaning and disinfection of premises, and linen hygiene. It also manages the medical device reprocessing service, the biomedical and equipment service, as well as Cressy-Santé. More than 1,300 professionals carry out their duties daily with constant attention to quality, a sense of service, and environmental responsibility.
Within the medical device reprocessing service, composed of about 90 people, under the responsibility of the management team, your mission is to ensure the reprocessing of medical devices as a medical device technologist.
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the production manager, you are part of a team of group leaders who share the management of the 70 medical device technologists in the service from their start and on a daily basis.
You organise and ensure the reprocessing services of medical devices for all HUG departments (operating theatres, care services, or any other internal client) and external clients, relying on your customer service-oriented attitude.
You coordinate the handling of medical devices according to best sterilisation practices, priorities, and urgencies for operating theatres and all clients.
You are able to analyse situations, make decisions, work autonomously and as part of a team to optimise the use of technical resources according to priorities and needs.
Mindful of patient presence and hospital constraints, you supervise and ensure compliance with procedures and protocols defined in the service's quality assurance system and all professional best practices.
Your organisational and planning skills guarantee the handling of medical devices according to the resources and needs of the various sectors while ensuring a balance between production needs and staff well-being.
By nature positive, optimistic, and attentive, you motivate and support your colleagues by fostering team spirit. You maintain a partnership climate to proactively manage complex situations involving several professional actors.
You demonstrate rigour and manage with respect and recognition while showing fairness. You ensure regular feedback to develop your team’s skills.
You update your colleagues’ and your own knowledge related to medical device reprocessing through continuing education and congresses.
Qualifications
You are the ideal candidate if you hold a Federal VET Diploma as a Medical Device Technologist or possess STE 2 with 5 years’ experience in medical device reprocessing, including 1 year in a hospital setting, complemented by management training with at least 2 years’ experience in team supervision.
You have an exemplary attitude and embody institutional values (trust, respect, team spirit, recognition, equality & inclusion).
You are proficient in office software such as Excel and Word and ideally have good experience with MRP software.
You have a very good command of the French language, both spoken and written.
Additional Information
This position requires irregular hours, as the medical device reprocessing service operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
The group leader activity will take place at the Cluse-Roseraie and Vernier sites throughout the deployment period of the service’s activities, until 2027.
