Elixir Developer (Freelance)

About the job

You will further develop our central Phoenix application, initially focusing primarily on data management and the integration of connected devices and applications, and later also on the user interface. You appreciate direct collaboration with management and external partners such as designers or other developers.

Your tasks

• Extension and maintenance of the server-side application with Elixir, Ecto (PostgreSQL) and Phoenix (including Channels and LiveView)
• Implementation of real-time communication between the central Phoenix application and the connected devices and applications (star topology), e.g. Python clients (WebSockets)
• Further development of interactive 3D visualisations with React, react-three-fiber and related libraries
• Design of components with Tailwind CSS
• Implementation, documentation and deployment of software services in development, test and production environments according to continuous deployment standards
• Operation and maintenance of these deployments in accordance with company policies and general best practices
• Creation and review of solution design documents together with the team
• Participation in our code reviews and collaboration via pull requests

What you bring

• Solid knowledge of Elixir and the Phoenix framework, including LiveView and Channels
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and Ecto, including database administration and performance optimisation
• Deep understanding of real-time web technologies and WebSocket communication
• Experience with React and modern React patterns
• Experience in 3D web development with react-three-fiber
• Experience in state management with Jotai
• Confident knowledge of CSS and Tailwind
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, tested and well-documented code
• Fluent German and English
• Ability to be partially on-site in Bauma, Switzerland

Desirable

• Experience with data quality checks and ETL pipelines
