Operator on conventional numerical machine - 100% To perform machining operations on conventional numerical machine tools to produce mechanical parts conforming to plans and quality requirements. Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting plans, sketches, and technical sheets
- Preparing the machine (mounting cutting tools, adjustments, setting up parts)
- Adjusting machining parameters in agreement with the methods office (speeds, feeds, depths of cut)
- Performing machining operations respecting tolerances and instructions
- Monitoring the production plan and priorities
- Checking parts during and at the end of production (caliper, micrometer, dial gauge, etc.)
- First-level maintenance of machines and reporting anomalies
- Applying current safety standards and quality rules
- Opportunity to develop skills in CNC machining
- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as polymechanic, production mechanic or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in machining on conventional numerical machine tools
- CNC experience is a real asset
- Excellent knowledge in reading plans
- Knowledge and ease in measurement and self-checking
- Knowledge of cutting tools and their use
- Sense of precision and rigor in controls
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Willingness to work in 2 shifts during short periods of overload
