Social Worker 90%, in Adliswil and Kollbrunn (m/f/d)
Caritas Switzerland has been operating, on behalf of the cantonal social office since March 2024, among other locations in Adliswil (Sihlau) and Kollbrunn, an asylum center with space for around 140 people and 130 people respectively (individuals and families). The Social Work/Case Management department is responsible for case management of persons in asylum care and public social assistance. To support case management, we are looking for a committed person.
Your tasks
Case management:
- Support and counseling of residents of asylum accommodations in the canton of Zurich
- Case and file management in the case processing system Tutoris
- Social counseling (integration, housing, family, finances, health, etc.) and triage of beneficiaries to the responsible authorities
- Preparation of monthly social assistance budgets
- Mediation of rights and obligations in social assistance/asylum care
- Ensuring the subsidiarity principle (social insurances, subsidies, etc.)
- Support with various administrative tasks and cooperation with other services/institutions
- Active participation in colloquia and intervisions of the service
Our requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy (or comparable education)
- Further training in case management and/or integration topics is an advantage
- Knowledge of social assistance law
- Knowledge of integration offers in the canton of Zurich is an advantage
- Professional experience in social counseling
- Very good oral and written German skills as well as good oral skills in another national language and/or English and/or an asylum language
- IT skills, ideally with case management software Tutoris
- Sense of cooperation, negotiation skills, and teamwork
- Intercultural competencies and interest in the asylum and refugee sector
- Good stress management and efficient self-organization (working hours, tasks, priority management)
- Professional attitude balancing empathy and assertiveness
Workplace is the canton of Zurich.
