As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counselling (AJB) is responsible for services in the area of child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the centre of our work – we dedicate ourselves to this every day – with great passion and commitment. The Sponsorships Department is part of the area of supplementary educational support and responsible for the enforcement of the Child and Youth Home Act (KJG).
From 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for an experienced, assertive and communicative professional.
Your area of responsibility
Together with three other employees, you are responsible for:
- Reviewing budgets and final accounts of child and youth homes and assessing their economic viability
- Auditing the final and cost accounts of the commissioned sponsors for compliance with legal requirements (KJG, Child and Youth Home Ordinance (KJV), State Contribution Act), the service agreement and other AJB requirements. The audit is supplementary to the regular and limited audits.
- Calculating and setting tariffs for service providers
- Responsibility for processing applications for construction projects and acquisitions in accordance with KJV
- Advising child and youth homes in close cooperation with the Pedagogy & Quality team
- Participating in the further development of processes, tools and decision-making bases
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree (university/FH) in business administration, ideally with a focus on audit, finance or accounting
- Several years of professional experience in auditing, financial auditing and/or controlling
- Complement the team with your commitment to developing and planning audit concepts as well as conducting audit procedures
- Strong analytical skills as well as a careful, efficient working style
- Fluent expression in spoken and written language, high social competence and confident appearance
