The new Chair of International Management (with an anticipated start date of 1 August 2026) strengthens the School's focus on global strategy and international business in an increasingly complex geopolitical and institutional environment. The chair places particular emphasis on how political, regulatory, and societal factors shape firms' international strategies and operations. It is expected to develop a visible research agenda, contribute to high-quality teaching across programmes, and engage with practitioners and policymakers.
Your tasks
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in international business, nonmarket strategy, and related areas (40%)
- Support ongoing research projects, including data collection, data analysis (e.g., econometrics), and manuscript preparation (20–30%)
- Contribute to the development of academic publications for leading journals
- Assist with teaching activities (e.g., course preparation, guest lectures, grading, student support) (20–30%)
- Participate in academic workshops, conferences, and research seminars
Your profile
Education and background
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in International Business, Strategy, Economics, or a related field
- Strong academic record and interest in pursuing a PhD or continuing doctoral research
Technical and research skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills (e.g., econometrics, statistics)
- Experience with statistical software such as R, Stata, or similar
- Interest in topics such as nonmarket strategy, geopolitical tensions, sanctions, and state–business relations
- Experience with academic research projects and/or publications is a plus
Languages
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
- Additional languages are an asset
