The Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences (GCB) at the University of Bern currently has around 550 doctoral students and offers a structured interfaculty doctoral program for research in biomedicine.
The secretariat is considered the hub and communication center of the Graduate School and therefore involves a wide range of varied tasks. The position is available from January 1, 2026, or by agreement. The possibility of long-term employment is available and desirable.
Tasks
- Responsible for all external communication channels, e.g. GCB Youtube, GCB Website and linkedin
- administrative task to work independentely on (i.e. course administration, thesis defense administration, progress reports, thesis defense administration, etc)
- support in the organization of the annual GCB symposium with ca. 350 participants
- correspondance and communication mostly in the English language
- Preparation of the GCB Annual Report
Requirements
- training in business administration or equivalent
- ability to work well in a team, organizational skills, flexibility and resilience
- stellar communication skills
- Professional experience in higher education system desirable
- Fluent in English (C1 or mother tongue), good knowledge in German (minimum B1)
- Independent, precise, and reliable way of working
- proactive personality with quick thinking
