Job Description
The University Dental Medicine Clinic (CUMD) is one of the three sections of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva. Its main mission is to promote oral health among the population through teaching, research, and patient care.
Among its structures is the Social Action Unit (UAS), which provides dental care to patients benefiting from social insurance, or referred by the Department of Primary Care Medicine of the HUG, notably including people with psychological disorders and/or multiple pathologies and detainees.
To complete its team, the UAS is looking for
a 20% dental assistant
The main tasks of this position, under the supervision of the deputy physician responsible for the Social Action Unit (UAS), in connection with the Operational Director of Clinics (DOC) of the CUMD, are to:
- Welcome and maintain contact with patients
- Assist UAS practitioners at the chairside
- Maintain the chair and equipment; ensure the workflow with the company responsible for sterilising medical devices
- Perform various administrative and logistical tasks related to the role
Required Title and Skills
Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a dental assistant, with authorisation to take radiographs
Practice rights in the canton of Geneva preferred
At least one year of work experience in a private dental practice or equivalent
Experience working in a clinic preferred
Knowledge of common IT tools (Office 365) and ability to use and manage specific IT tools
Good command of written and spoken French; oral knowledge of English preferred
Knowledge of current regulations regarding hygiene measures and sterilisation
This position requires the following specific skills:
- Ease in contact with patients and their relatives or companions
- Pedagogical skills
- Strong organisational ability
- A proactive and methodical attitude
- Ability to work in a complex clinical environment with a strong team spirit
