Your tasks
- You follow and describe developments in the field of technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
- You analyse these developments primarily and predominantly from a technological and scientific perspective. Occasionally, you also seek answers in philosophy, politics, economics or sociology. And you classify technological developments from a geopolitical or global economic perspective.
- You write background reports, analyses, commentaries, editorials, portraits or reports for different channels of the NZZ brand (e.g. online, newsletter, video, podcast, print).
- You edit colleagues' texts, play an active role in topic planning and supervise external authors.

- You are creative and find interesting and original narrative approaches.
- You enjoy experimenting and like to learn new things.
- A scientific background would be helpful.
- You tackle content-wise very demanding topics with vigour.
- You are team-oriented and resilient.
Our offer
- You are part of an innovative and highly motivated team of technology and science journalists - who write for NZZ (print and digital) about artificial intelligence, robotics, medicine, psychology, climate, wildlife, space travel, astronomy, environment, mobility or the latest developments in Silicon Valley, publish their own newsletters (Wohl & Sein, Quantensprung and Weg & Ziel), record a prize-winning podcast of NZZ weekly with Quantensprung , work closely with the podcast and video departments of NZZ, tell their stories also with data and graphics and bring science journalism to the NZZ live stage.
- You can expect diverse training opportunities (internal and external) and a great working environment: central location of the office "am Bellevue" in the heart of Zurich; flexible working (e.g. home office) possible by arrangement.
