Project Manager for Biodiversity and Landscape Quality
Office for Agriculture and Geoinformation | 80-100 % | Chur
The Office for Agriculture and Geoinformation is a service of the Department of Public Economy and Social Affairs. It comprises four sections: agricultural measures, structural improvement, surveying, and the GIS competence centre.
The agricultural measures section is responsible for implementing the agricultural policy of the Confederation in the Canton of Graubünden. It ensures that direct payments to agriculture are made in accordance with the law and thus makes an important contribution to the conservation and sustainable development of Graubünden agriculture.
In the area of surfaces/ecology, as project manager you will be responsible for work related to biodiversity and landscape quality, develop projects for landscape quality and connectivity, and act as a contact person for enquiries from farm managers, specialised services and external contractors. In addition, you support the team in GIS-related issues and applications.
We offer a varied and responsible role within the cantonal administration. You will work within a competent and motivated team that fosters a service- and goal-oriented corporate culture with short decision-making processes.
For the surfaces/ecology sector in the agricultural measures section, we are looking for a motivated project manager for biodiversity and landscape quality (80-100 %) starting 1 October 2026 or by agreement.
Responsibilities
- Management, implementation and further development of projects in the fields of biodiversity and landscape quality within the framework of the execution of direct payments to agriculture
- Responsibility for the correct calculation of contributions for biodiversity and landscape quality
- Collaboration in the development of the agricultural data system LAWIS Plus as well as technical and specialist tasks with the geographic information system ArcGIS Pro
- Specialist training and support of external specialised offices
What we expect from you
- Completed studies at a university or university of applied sciences in agronomy or environmental sciences or diploma as an SSS agricultural technician with professional experience
- Extensive experience with GIS applications, ideally ArcGIS, as well as a strong affinity for specific applications and digital processes
- Understanding of agricultural requirements and the ability to develop feasible solutions taking into account agricultural production, implementation and promotion of biodiversity
- Ability to work in a team, communication skills and the ability to handle specialist topics with stylistic mastery and appropriately for the target audience
- Analytical and interdisciplinary thinking
- Independent, structured working method characterised by initiative and organisational talent
