Intern in Social Work 80%The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of eight main departments of JuWe and are responsible for the enforcement of custodial sentences and court-ordered measures as well as for probation assistance. They make an important contribution to crime prevention and the social integration of offenders.
The Probation Assistance Department of Enforcement 1 is responsible for probation assistance after conditional release as well as transition management before release from custody. Its tasks also include monitoring instructions within the framework of probation assistance as well as resource- and risk-oriented counselling during alternative penal enforcement and supporting outpatient treatments without deferral of sentence.
From February 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed, team-oriented and responsible person for an internship in Social Work for the BWH V1 department.
This is your field of activity
- You support the case managers in fulfilling their tasks, especially by taking on partial tasks such as advising and empowering clients with the aim of reducing recidivism. This includes organising suitable therapy places, formulating treatment goals and checking the achievement of these goals, monitoring instructions and conducting probation assistance according to the Risk-Oriented Sanction Enforcement (ROS). You also write reports and submit applications to the ordering authority.
- You support our clients in the context of material assistance and contact mediation in the areas of work, housing, finances and social insurance. You work interdisciplinarily as well as with external bodies such as therapists, authorities, courts and social welfare offices.
- You perform administrative tasks such as general correspondence and file management.
- You also participate in team meetings and intervisions.
What you bring with you
- You are in an advanced stage of studying Social Work (FH/HF) and are interested in forensic psychiatry/psychology, criminology and working with offenders.
- You are characterised by networked and goal-oriented thinking, independent and precise working, pronounced organisational skills and high psychological resilience.
- Ideally, you have some initial administrative experience, good PC user skills and can express yourself very well in German. Additional language skills are an advantage.
- You are a responsible and stable personality, ideally at least 25 years old and have a clean record (no entries in the criminal record or debt collection register).
