Science Department Technician
Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) welcomes 4,500 students aged 3 to 18 years representing more than 130 nationalities. Your role and responsibilities:
Pedagogical and Technical Support
- Work under the responsibility of the department head and in a team with other scientific technicians.
- Prepare equipment and chemicals for classes in the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
- Support experimental work in class during lessons if necessary.
- Collaborate on pedagogical innovation by testing and optimizing experimental protocols.
Management and Maintenance
- Maintain, repair, and clean laboratory equipment.
- Manage stock, perform inventories, and carry out purchases according to school procedures.
- Manage the storage and disposal of chemicals in accordance with Swiss regulations.
Safety and Community
- Know and enforce safety standards in force within the school.
- Engage in school life (meetings, training, community events).
Profile sought:
Skills and Experience
- Scientific diploma, ideally with a specialization in chemistry.
- Previous experience as a scientific technician in a school environment.
- Excellent skills in French and English (written and oral).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps tools.
Personal qualities
- Ability to work independently while having a strong team spirit.
- Ability to manage stress and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with adolescent audiences.
- Rigor, organizational skills, and a high level of personal demand.
