The Hospital Network AR
The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the acute hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy under the nursing management of Mr Sven Lang, Ms Séverine Buchter and Ms Melanie Bruderer are seeking a health professional for the Dependency Treatment Unit from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, with a workload of 80%.

We work recovery-oriented with an addiction psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment setting. Through milieu and therapy design, we promote the participation and self-responsibility of our patients.
Attractive tasks
- Strong, transparent and consensus-oriented collaboration in the interdisciplinary setting as well as with patients
- Support and management of everyday situations as well as leading milieu-therapeutic groups
- Main responsibility for the organisational and logistical processes on the ward (ward secretariat)
- Receipt of medication deliveries, stock checks and replenishment of medicine cabinets in compliance with hygiene and safety regulations
- Support in training tasks
- Electronic documentation with ORBIS NICE and other IT systems
Therefore, we want you
- Completed training as a health professional
- Experience in psychiatry
- Flexibility and interest in supporting teams on different wards during shortages
- Interest in working in an interprofessional treatment team
- Willingness to work shifts in a 24-hour operation
- Enjoyment of situations that are sometimes unpredictable
