Safety Officer (SIBE) and Facility Management (a)

To support the two independent areas of Risk and Facility Management, we are looking for an independent and technically skilled personality for the Thun location.

Your tasks as SIBE (50%)

You take on the role of Safety Officer and are responsible for all aspects of occupational safety in the exciting research environment. Together with specialists and researchers, you develop and implement solutions for safe work in the various hazard areas.

As a safety specialist, you are part of the core team of Empa's Risk Management and are involved in the design, project work, and implementation of measures for a current and efficient safety system at all three Empa locations.

Your tasks Facility Management (50%)

The Facility Management Thun is part of the Real Estate department, whose headquarters is at Empa Dübendorf.

In this role, you are therefore an independent contact person on site for various stakeholders and support them in the following areas:

• Organization and execution of moves
• Management and provision of special gases and the fleet vehicle
• Responsible for shipping and mail
• Performing versatile maintenance tasks
• Coordination and supervision of maintenance and cleaning work by external companies
• Support of our project managers in construction projects

• Professional basic training as an electrician EFZ, refrigeration technician EFZ or equivalent
• Further training as a specialist in occupational safety and health protection (ASGS) with a federal certificate of competence, or willingness to obtain it
• Solid knowledge in the field of facility management
• Organizational talent, high flexibility, resilience, and assertiveness
• Strong ability to work independently and structure the workday efficiently.
• An honest, communicative, and networked-thinking personality
• Very good command (at least B2) of German and English

You are characterized by a good grasp and pragmatism and keep your own expertise up to date independently. We offer a team-oriented and communicative personality an interesting, very versatile, and responsible task in an exciting environment.

Your supervisors, the head of the Risk Management department and the head of the Technology & Operations (FM) division, mainly work at the Empa Dübendorf and Empa St. Gallen locations. Your working days at Empa Thun will be arranged in consultation with you. The exchange takes place periodically on site, but mostly by phone and email.
