Reporting to the Head of Execution EMEA, you will take full ownership of the execution of LDC’s soybean international trade flows — from contract inception through to final delivery and payment. Operating with a high degree of autonomy within your decision rights, you will be a key point of expertise for your peers and a trusted partner to traders and external counterparties alike.
Your duties and responsibilities:

- Take full accountability for the flawless execution of assigned soybean trade flows, proactively managing your vessel pipeline from nomination through to final settlement.
- Manage vessel nominations, shipping instructions, and documentary processes to ensure full compliance with contractual deadlines and obligations.
- Appoint and coordinate third parties — including surveyors, agents, and insurers — to monitor loading and discharging operations as required.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure cargo is loaded and discharged in line with contractual terms (weight, quality, quantity, packing, and applicable trade rules).
- Proactively anticipate and resolve operational issues; escalate to the Execution Manager and/or Traders where appropriate.
Contract & Documentation Administration
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all commercial contracts under your responsibility, including trade association rules (GAFTA, FOSFA, ANEC, NAEGA, PORAM, RSAL, NY11, etc.) and relevant charter party obligations.
- Ensure conformity of document instructions from buyers, issue shipping documentary instructions to sellers accordingly.
- Guarantee that all documents received throughout the trade-to-cash process meet contractual obligations.
- Maintain timely, accurate updates in the front system and ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed.
Payment Cycle & Financial Follow-up
- Prepare and review Letters of Credit to ensure compliance with contract terms, UCP 600, and ISBP rules; negotiate LC documents with the support of the LC Execution Centre.
- Prepare outgoing commercial invoices in a timely manner and follow up on accounts receivable to ensure full and timely payment.
- Review and approve incoming invoices for payment; escalate discrepancies to the Trader or Execution Manager as needed.
- Follow up on laytime calculations to ensure timely settlement of demurrage and dispatch files.
Compliance & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and the Group's Code of Conduct at all times.
- Liaise effectively with senior traders and cross-functional teams across LDC offices globally on operational and logistics matters.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with external parties including banks, surveyors, freight brokers, agents, buyers, and suppliers.
- Provide technical expertise to peers and contribute to the development of junior team members.
- Participate actively in process improvement initiatives and contribute to broader team and company projects.
Qualifications
Your profile:
Experience & Technical Skills
- Around 6-8 years of experience in international trade execution, ideally in grains or oilseeds (soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower) or broader agricultural commodities.
- Strong command of international trade association rules and contract terms, including GAFTA, FOSFA, ANEC, NAEGA, PORAM, RSAL, and NY11.
- Solid knowledge of international payment instruments, Letter of Credit processes (UCP 600, ISBP), and current Banking and Trade Finance practices.
