The ecumenical airport church is supported by the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Zurich and the Catholic Church in the Canton of Zurich in close cooperation with Flughafen Zürich AG. It offers pastoral care, support, and social counseling for people of all denominations, religions, and worldviews and is a well-integrated contact point at the airport for crises and life situations of all kinds.
Main tasks
- Social, pastoral, and spiritual support and counseling
for people staying at the airport - Support of the volunteer team
- Networking with other agencies and organizations
- Co-design of spiritual offerings and events in the interreligious prayer room
- Collaboration in the airport's care organization
- On-call service (one week per month including nights and weekends)
- Administrative tasks
- Educational activities (lectures, tours, training)
Requirements
- University or technical college degree in social diaconia,
social work or equivalent training - Practical experience in diaconia, pastoral care and/or social work
- Further training in intercultural and/or interreligious fields
is an advantage - Experience in dealing with people in crisis situations
- Knowledge in organizing spiritual events
- Connection with the tasks and contents of the two regional churches
- Ability to work in a team
- Quick comprehension
- Organizational skills
- Good German and English skills
