Job Description
Main mission of the role:
The Technical Project Manager - Watch Components personally ensures the design, construction and technical development of the casing components of new products, from concept definition to their validation and industrialisation. They also manage and coordinate the projects entrusted to them, in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
Indicative distribution of activities:
- 70%: design, construction and technical development of new products.
- 30%: management and coordination of cross-functional R&D projects, and contribution to the development of technical tools and processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Construction and technical development
- Personally carry out the design and construction in 3D and 2D CAD of casing components: cases, dials, hands and straps.
- Define construction solutions and technical characteristics of components.
- Conduct feasibility studies, dimension chains, plans and technical files necessary for industrialisation.
- Control and validate technical files produced by external partners.
- Lead prototyping, testing, validation and fine-tuning activities of constructions.
- Integrate aesthetic, functional, industrial and quality constraints from the early development phases.
- Create, control and maintain technical data in CAD, PLM and ERP environments.
- Provide technical support to internal departments and external partners throughout development.
- Project management and coordination
- Organise and monitor activities, deliverables and milestones of assigned projects.
- Coordinate contributions from various internal and external stakeholders.
- Organise and lead the various meetings necessary for the smooth running of projects.
- Identify and monitor risks, actions and points requiring arbitration.
- Communicate regularly on project progress.
- Manage cross-functional R&D projects related to materials, processes and construction principles.
- Monitor the development of mechanical and quartz movements in connection with casing.
- Contribute to the deployment and evolution of 3DEXPERIENCE and PLM processes within the technical office.
Profile
- Degree in engineering HES, EPF, ES technician or equivalent training in mechanics, microtechnology or product design.
- Proven experience of at least five years in CAD construction of watch casing components.
- Experience in managing and coordinating cross-functional technical projects involving various internal and external stakeholders.
Required skills
- Mastery of 3D and 2D CAD construction, volumetric and surfacic.
- Mastery of functional dimensioning, dimension chains and technical files.
- Good knowledge of materials, treatments and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional technical projects.
- Ability to organise and lead meetings and ensure follow-up of actions, risks and milestones.
- Proficiency in CATIA or equivalent CAD software.
- Knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE and PLM processes, especially in a deployment context.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Knowledge in material strength and finite element simulation, notably with Abaqus or Forge.
- Additional training in project management.
- Rigor, autonomy and methodical approach.
- Strong interest in construction.
- Analytical mind, pragmatism and results orientation.
- Clear communication and aptitude for cross-functional collaboration.
- Technical curiosity and initiative.
Languages
Excellent command of French and good knowledge of technical English.
Any other language is an asset.
