The Swiss Animal Protection STS is the umbrella organisation of 70 animal protection organisations from all language regions of Switzerland as well as Liechtenstein. As the largest nationally active animal protection organisation, we are committed with passion and scientifically sound foundations to the welfare of pets, wild, farm and laboratory animals.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual as
Project Manager Pets (80-100%)
who is responsible for projects focusing on pets, further develops professional foundations and animal welfare standards, and makes knowledge accessible to different stakeholders.
Your contribution to effective animal protection work
You take responsibility for the planning, control, implementation, execution and evaluation of projects and measures, primarily in the area of pets. In doing so, you combine sound expertise with structured project management, target group-oriented knowledge preparation and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Together with the Head of Animal Welfare Standards & Knowledge Management, you develop professional foundations, requirements, informational materials and tools further, classify relevant developments and contribute to shaping animal welfare standards in a scientifically sound and practical manner.
Your tasks
Plan, manage projects and ensure impact
- You plan and work on projects and measures, especially in the area of pets.
- You ensure through systematic project management and success control that goals are achieved and the desired impact is realised.
- You coordinate tasks, participants and professional inputs and ensure structured implementation.
Further develop animal welfare standards and expertise - focus on pets
- You develop, maintain and advance professional foundations, requirements, informational materials and tools related to husbandry and breeding.
- You develop and advance animal welfare standards.
- You observe relevant developments and issues, classify them professionally and prepare decision-making bases for the superior authority.
- You handle and coordinate internal and external professional enquiries within your area of responsibility.
Shape communication, networking and collaboration
- You contribute professionally to communication measures, campaigns, statements and other activities of the STS.
- You maintain and develop contacts with professional organisations, authorities, animal shelters, veterinarians and other stakeholders.
- You participate in professional committees and represent the STS in agreement with and on behalf of the superior authority.
- You work closely with other teams of the Competence Centre for Animal Protection as well as with other areas of the STS and support coordinated activities and projects.
What you bring
Professional profile
- Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in animal sciences, biology, veterinary medicine or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in project or campaign work, ideally in the NGO, environmental or animal protection sector.
- Very good professional understanding in the area of pets and animal-appropriate husbandry.
- Excellent communication and writing skills as well as the ability to prepare complex professional topics understandably.
- Fluent German; knowledge of French is an advantage.
