Job Description
- Independent preparation and processing of import, export and transit customs clearances
- Proper customs handling of food and food-related products in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Ensuring correct and timely data entry in the relevant customs and ERP systems
- Review, preparation and management of all customs-relevant documents
- Close cooperation with authorities, transport service providers, warehouses, customers and internal specialist departments
- Monitoring compliance with customs regulations, compliance guidelines and quality standards
- Support with operational issues and ongoing optimisation of customs processes
- Monitoring legal changes and ensuring correct implementation of new customs regulations
- Co-responsibility for achieving defined service and quality indicators (KPIs)
Profile
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable role
- Sound knowledge of Swiss customs regulations and customs processes
- Good knowledge of the Swiss Customs Act (ZG) and Customs Ordinance (ZV), ideally also of the Union Customs Code (UCC)
- Experience in customs clearance of food or food-related products is an advantage
- Very good German skills as well as good English skills
- Ideally further training in the customs field
- Precise, structured and independent working style
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- High service orientation and enjoyment in working with various contacts
