The People & Culture division of the Biel Hospital Centre shares responsibility for managing personnel requirements and deployment and makes a significant contribution to the further development of the overall organisation. As a trusted partner, we support managers and employees professionally and efficiently in their personnel matters. In this versatile role, you will support our subsidiaries in payroll, social insurance, and personnel support. You will independently manage their payroll accounting and ensure the correct handling of social insurance matters. At the same time, you will work closely with the responsible P&C Business Partner and support them in the administrative and advisory care of the employees of our subsidiaries.

HR Generalist & Payroll (80–100%)
Your tasks – our position
- You independently and punctually ensure the monthly payroll processing and payroll accounting of our subsidiaries and carry out the necessary checks and reconciliations.
- You take on the monthly and annual closing tasks, ensure high data quality, and are responsible for the relevant interfaces to financial accounting.
- You independently handle the diverse topics around social insurance – from illness and accident cases to EO and maternity/paternity leave, as well as entry, exit, and change notifications.
- For specific or complex questions regarding payroll and social insurance, you can rely on professional exchange and support from our internal specialists.
- Together with the responsible P&C Business Partner, you support the subsidiaries throughout the entire employee life cycle and independently take on administrative and advisory tasks.
- You are the first point of contact for managers and employees on operational and administrative personnel matters and advise them within your area of expertise.
- You are responsible for personnel administration from entry to exit – including employment contracts and contract changes, changes, personnel files, family and childcare allowances, training agreements, and exit administration.
- You prepare employment confirmations, interim and work references, as well as employer certificates, and ensure professional handling of administrative personnel processes.
- You independently take on assignments from the P&C Business Partner and coordinate with them on further personnel matters.
- With your networked thinking and service-oriented working style, you contribute to professional and holistic support of our subsidiaries.
Your skills – our requirements
- You have a commercial or equivalent basic education and completed further training as an HR specialist with a federal diploma or comparable further training.
- You bring solid knowledge in payroll processing and Swiss social insurance as well as a good understanding of accounting contexts.
- You have several years of professional experience in personnel administration and payroll processing with social insurance matters.
- You know the personnel processes along the employee life cycle and have experience supporting managers and employees with operational personnel questions.
- You are proficient in MS Office and ideally have experience with Abacus and other HR systems.
- You communicate very well in German or French and can make yourself understood in the other language.
- You impress with a strong numerical understanding as well as a structured, reliable, and independent working style.
- You think in networks, understand processes and interfaces, and keep an overview even with several parallel topics.
- You are strong in communication and consulting, service-oriented, and enjoy working with different contacts.
