Apprentice Physics Laboratory Technician (a)
For August 2027 we offer a challenging apprenticeship position in the Department of Materials and Nanomechanics in Thun within a fascinating research environment.

What you bring
- Secondary school A with very good grades in science, mathematics and language subjects – English is our everyday language
- Theoretical and practical interest in physics, chemistry, materials, electronics as well as computer science and technical systems
- Abstract thinking and methodical approach, technical understanding and manual dexterity
- Good powers of observation and comprehension, careful, responsible and reliable work
- Enjoyment of a highly technical and complex working environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
You are also convinced to start your future with a vocational apprenticeship.
What we offer you
- You examine the physical and chemical integrity of metallic materials and their components, as used for example in buildings, bridges, tunnels, production facilities, mechanical engineering as well as energy, rail and medical technology
- You determine material properties using the most modern analytical methods and carry out physical measurements and test series with materials and systems
- You tinker with test setups, prepare experiments, conduct them and then document them
- You attend vocational school in Zurich. Attendance at the BMS is supported.
