Senior Project Manager / Business Analyst 80 - 100%The Office for Information Technology (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich. It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the Office for Information Technology accompanies and supports the Canton of Zurich into the digital world.
Lead complex digitalisation projects and help shape the project landscape of the canton. As a Senior Project Manager / Business Analyst, you take on the operational overall responsibility for managing demanding IT, organisational, and digitalisation projects of the Office for Information Technology.
You are part of the Project Portfolio Governance team and act in your projects as the central interface between clients, specialist departments, architecture, operations, and external service providers. In doing so, you lead interdisciplinary project teams professionally and ensure that viable and implementable solutions emerge.
Your tasks:
- You take on the operational overall responsibility for managing complex IT, organisational, and digitalisation projects – from initiation to successful project completion.
- You plan and control your projects regarding costs, deadlines, resources, risks, quality, and benefits and are responsible for project controlling and reporting.
- You lead interdisciplinary project teams professionally, coordinate participants across organisational and specialist boundaries, and ensure compliance with project and portfolio governance.
- As a link between the specialist department and IT, you translate business needs into implementable solutions through business analysis and requirements engineering.
- You conduct active stakeholder management, moderate workshops and steering committees, and bring together different interests to reach viable decisions.
- You take project responsibility for procurements and evaluations and coordinate the involved specialist units.
Your profile:
- Several years of proven experience in managing complex IT, organisational, or digitalisation projects
- Solid project management competence, ideally with HERMES 2022 Advanced or a comparable certification.
- Experience in business analysis and requirements engineering as well as a strong understanding of collaboration between specialist departments and IT
- Solid experience with common project and control tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Microsoft 365, or SharePoint.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as the ability to quickly grasp complex issues and prepare them appropriately for the target audience.
- Very good moderation, communication, and negotiation skills as well as a confident, assertive manner.
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as good professional English skills.
